Browns' 2022 Preseason breakdown

The Browns have just wrapped up their 2022 Preseason and it's been a very interesting one.

With their only win against Jacksonville in Week 1 of Preseason, the Browns keep trying to figure out what has to happen to get some big wins this coming regular season. The QB position has become the newsworthy topic since offseason. With the QB1 position not on Watson for the majority of the season, Cleveland is looking at all options.

Though, as of now choosing to go with Jacoby Brissett as their starter until Watson comes back, the Browns should honestly look into Josh Dobbs as being their QB1 for now. With Brissett's performance against Chicago being a bit.. droopy, Dobbs has shown tremendous value so far. Out of all the QB's they want to acquire this season, Browns might have a keeper with Joshua Dobbs.

Dobbs seems to be really hungry for the chance. I will go as far as saying he's hungrier than Deshaun Watson. Dobbs has all the tools the Browns need in a confident leader for this team in 2022. We're not sure how Watson will perform when he returns, but in his first game as a Brown, he went 1 for 5 with a whopping 7 yards and zero touches.

I know most say it's just Preseason, but Watson looked out of sync and just not into it. Granted there is a lot on his mind lately... Watson needs to step up and really get down with the nitty gritty when he returns against Houston in Week 13. If Watson does come out swingin' in his official debut as a Brown, then we might be in for a real treat with his tenure.

As of right now, I personally think Dobbs is the right move for QB1.

As far as the rushing game, not much to really say. Cleveland's rushing attack has always been one of their major keys to victory. I liked what I saw from John Kelly and Jerome Ford all Preseason. Those two are dynamite together. Would love to see more of them presented in the regular season.

As for the receiving end, Anthony Schwartz has been really struggling in the catching arena, he's a tremendous route runner and has some serious speed... he just ain't got the catching power right now. Not sure what's going on in his head, but he's gotta get it together or he's not sticking around in Cleveland much longer.

Jerome Ford has been showing his chops in the receiving department, putting up some solid numbers in Jacksonville, getting 45 yards and a touch, while maintaining 11.2 average per reception. Nakia Stewart has been getting some solid catches in the open as well, looking forward to seeing what he brings from here on out. Other than that, it's been very hit and miss.

Another Preseason gone by in Cleveland, now onto the REAL fun.
